My Hamilton Beach water dispenser not working.?

Ok i brought this nice small Hamilton Beach cold/hot water dispenser about little more than 1 year ago and its been off about 6 months now and i decided to turn it back on refill it with water and notice the cold is not cold its warm and its suppose to come out cold the hot works fine. but before i stopped using it i did dump all the water remaining in it buy turning it upside down to drain and than releasing the drain plug under neath and 6 months later i wish i had fresh water again to drink and get the machine going again and its not comming out cold. just warm water the model is the 4200 you can search it on google or at there web-site Hamiltonbeach.com can anyone help me with this problem.

I work with electronics everyday. We have a simple rule we try to follow whenever possible. It's called the K.I.S.S principle. The KISS principle is to Keep It Simple Stupid. I would check the electrical switch that the spigot controls. The spigot opens up to allow the warm water to pass, but it isn't turning on the compressor to cool the water. Now it's also possible that the spigot doesn't control the compressor, but instead it is controlled by a gravity switch when the water bottle is installed. You may also want to see if you can find a temperature control setting that may be intermittent. I know from my experience I'd go looking for a switch or an adjustment that is making an intermittent connection due to oxidation after being exposed to water and then not used for an extended time.
